Transportation Aide
SUMMARY
A Transportation Scheduler/Driver is responsible for providing safe, courteous, and timely transportation for residents. This position will also schedule and maintain record of appointments.
This position complies with department and organization-wide policies, long-term care facility requirements, safety, and infection control, and all Federal and State of Nebraska regulations related to the performance of Heritage of Webster County operations and requirements of the compliance program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Transports residents for scheduled appointments and trips. Takes notes of appointment happenings, if applicable.
• Properly restrains wheelchair passengers.
• Maintains schedule of resident appointments with times and dates.
• Records details of appointment including time of departure and time of return.
• Reads and understands schedules and special trip requests.
• Performs routine safety checks and care of vans.
• Complies with organizational and Nebraska Department of Transportation regulations.
• Follows all applicable laws, company procedures and normal precautions regarding prevailing weather and road conditions.
• Reports any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents and/or incidents.
• Attends and participates in applicable training and educational activities.
• Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous nurse aide or long-term care experience preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
